The best asian food in London!In March 2020, when the pandemic resulted in complete lockdown, nobody knew that it would have such grave implications. One of the sectors that was badly hit was Food & Beverage, which led to the rise of a viable concept which helped masses enjoy restaurant-like food at home and made it less-stressful for foodpreneurs. The concept is called Virtual Kitchen and experts can foresee it as the fuTill then its Bon Appétit from Maka Tik Naka.ture of the food industry.
Malcolm Silveira a Hotel management post graduate from Ealing and Hammersmith University, London always wanted to become a chef, but due to health reasons couldn’t pursue his ambition and had to settle down as bartender. Malcolm, worked as a bar manager in some reputed Bars in India like The Irish House, Poison and Hype. But his heart was always in the kitchen to be a Chef and to start a dream venture. An optimist, he made it happen in a new avatar.
The coronavirus pandemic was a blessing in disguise for him. A good friend of Malcolm from the event management industry spent an evening with him over dinner. And that’s how Maka tik naka (I don’t want it too spicy) make into being.
They wanted to have some thing unique for the London market and that’s how the idea of a frankie, a popular street food in Mumbai, popped up. ( 10 types of Frankie) is our speciality.
We also do some Mumbai inspired dishes like Irani kheema pao, stuffed pomfret fry and much more. Maka tik naka —a solely virtual kitchen from my home in August this year for delivering global street food through delivery platforms - Uber Eats, Just Eat, Deliveroo. Malcolm, is overwhelmed by the response he has received but modestly attributes it to the home-style food that people have been craving.
